Sacramento Public Library Website Redesign

“The Sacramento Public Library serves a population of over 1.3 million people, which makes it the fourth largest in California,” said Amy Calhoun, electronic resources librarian. “The new website will help us to effectively communicate library events, new books, and other materials to help educate and enrich the lives of the people we serve.”

This is the wireframe we worked from after some intense paper prototyping, card sorting, user personas and research.
My homepage mockup presented at the kick off for discussion.  We kept many of these widgets and concepts.  Their wonderful graphic designer took this, and the wireframe and sitemap and ran wild with it.  It was a great collaboration.
This was an awesome project for great people that went very well.  We even won site of the year!
